Stranded after a helicopter crash, a betrayed wife and her husband's retired-pilot brother survive the wilderness, igniting a forbidden romance that challenges her marriage.
Natalie arranges an island escape to mend her fractured marriage to Karl, only to watch him invite their neighbor Camilla along. When their helicopter goes down in remote terrain, Karl leaves an injured Natalie behind to reach Camilla. Blake, Karl's older brother and a former pilot, stays and applies his expertise to keep them alive through exposure and dwindling supplies. Days of shared hardship reveal Blake's steady competence and quiet tenderness, contrasting sharply with Karl's selfishness. An unforeseen emotional connection takes root between Natalie and Blake. The narrative halts at the moment Karl reappears, presenting Natalie with an impossible decision: return to the husband who deserted her or embrace the man who refused to let her die.
