A med student's ex-boyfriend drugs him, then he meets the boyfriend's mafia father — his own former one-night stand.
Harvard medical student Lucas Bennett is drugged and discarded by his boyfriend Jasper during a party. Fleeing the scene, he collides with Arthur Devine, Jasper's father and the West Coast's most feared mafia don. Their recognition is instant: three years earlier, they shared a reckless anonymous night. That revelation rewrites every betrayal Lucas suffers — Jasper's retaliatory forced injections, stepbrother Blake's calculated trap, and rival Amod's coercion to assassinate Arthur. Through each escalation, Arthur intercepts the violence meant for Lucas, offering quiet protection instead of exploitation. The premise centers on two discarded people choosing each other amid generational crime warfare, where a single whispered reassurance during gunfire carries more weight than any grand declaration.
