A stand-in date leads to a CEO romance that collapses under a friend's betrayal and a looming engagement.
Leah Bennett agrees to cover a cafe meeting for her friend Mia, who has been pocketing cash from an unseen suitor while using Leah's photos. Instead of the expected stranger, Leah finds Aiden Black, the charismatic CEO of Black Group, and the two plunge into three weeks of genuine closeness. The bubble bursts when Mia returns, identifies Aiden from the photos, and reveals his imminent engagement to a New York heiress. Refusing to become a hidden lover, Leah pulls back, only to discover Aiden has faked illness and surveilled her. A bar encounter with the actual online suitor, Noah, a gentle man self-conscious about a jaw scar, adds another layer before a confrontation in Aiden's office lays bare his fierce possessiveness and a shocking bid to bind her through pregnancy.
