On their anniversary, two husbands choose an ex's cat and cruel mockery over saving their trapped wives, driving the women to divorce together.
Ella and Leah mark three years of marriage to the Harper brothers with a nightmare: Charles's first love locks Ella in a burning room. The firefighter ignores his wife's screams to retrieve his ex's cat, while Dr. Noah Harper laughs when Leah begs him to save Ella and her unborn child. Years of quiet suffering snap into focus. The lifelong friends walk into a lawyer's office side by side, filing for divorce as a united front against the brothers who proved their lives matter less than ego and petty grudges.
