A fake breakup becomes the only shield against parental blackmail threatening a hockey career and a future.
A post-game assault lands David in the hospital after he takes a hit meant for Owen, forcing the longtime rivals into a shared bed where hostility shifts into something neither expected. David's parents arrive unannounced, witness the intimacy, and instantly weaponize it: Owen must vanish from David's life or watch his professional hockey aspirations crumble alongside Emma's future. With no honest exit, Emma devises a reckless counterplay — staging a volatile, very public breakup convincing enough to satisfy the ultimatum while preserving what actually matters.
